G. Wood was a versatile American actor born on December 31, 1919, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He gained recognition for his roles in the 1971 film "Harold and Maude" as a psychiatrist and in the 1974 comedy-drama "The Bank Shot". Notably, he appeared in both the 1970 film "M*A*S*H" and its television adaptation, playing General Hammond. Wood passed away on July 24, 2000, at the age of 80.
