Biography

Jamie Uys was a South African film director, best known for directing the comedy films The Gods Must Be Crazy and its 1989 sequel. Before turning to film, he was a mathematics teacher, farmer, and local magistrate, using his unique experiences to inform his work. Uys' documentary film Animals Are Beautiful People showcased the unique wildlife of Africa, and he directed 24 films throughout his career.
