Yacef Saâdi

Biography

Yacef Saâdi was a prominent Algerian revolutionary and politician who played a key role in the country's struggle for independence. He served as a leader of the National Liberation Front during the Algerian War and later co-produced the iconic film "The Battle of Algiers." A skilled actor, Saâdi appeared in the battle itself, modeled on his own experiences, before going on to found a film production company, Casbah Films, with his friend Ahmed Ben Bella.
