Fruit Chan Gor is a Hong Kong filmmaker known for his style of film reflecting everyday life in Hong Kong. Born April 15, 1959, in Guangdong, China, he worked various jobs to support himself while studying film, eventually enrolling at the Film Culture Society and later gaining admission to the Hong Kong Film Culture Centre. His breakthrough came with the 1997 film Made in Hong Kong, which earned numerous local and international awards.
