Biography

Stephen Tyrone Colbert is an American comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host, best known for hosting The Colbert Report from 2005 to 2014 and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from 2015 to 2026. He began his career in improvisational theatre while attending Northwestern University, meeting Second City director Del Close. A correspondent on Comedy Central's news-parody series The Daily Show, he later became a host after leaving the show in 2005.
