Biography

Jan Tříska was a Czech actor born on November 4, 1936, in Prague, who began his career at the National Theatre and later studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He worked extensively in film and television, including notable roles as Captain Henry Wirz in "Andersonville" and Steckler in "Loose Cannons". Tříska's acting career spanned over 160 roles across stage, film, and television before returning to his native country following the Velvet Revolution.
