Biography

Ram John Holder is a Guyanese-British actor and musician who began his career as a folk singer in New York City before moving to London in 1962 to work with Pearl Connor's Negro Theatre Workshop. He gained fame for his role as Porkpie Grant in the Channel 4 sitcom Desmond's and its spin-off series, cementing his status as a beloved character actor. Holder has continued to appear in film and television, including notable roles in "Unfinished Song" and "Your Christmas or Mine?" series.
