Debebe Eshetu
Biography
Debebe Eshetu was a renowned Ethiopian actor, journalist, and human rights advocate born in Addis Ababa in 1943. He made his mark on the stage with pantomime art, training at the Budapest School in Hungary, before making his film debut in the 1973 American blaxploitation film Shaft in Africa. Eshetu later transitioned into politics as a key figure in the Coalition for Unity and Democracy, advocating for human rights and democracy.
