Biography
Sabu Dastagir, born Selar Sabu in 1924, was a pioneering Indian-American actor who captivated audiences worldwide during the 1930s-1940s. He rose to fame with roles in films such as Elephant Boy (1937), The Drum (1938), and Black Narcissus (1947), before being inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Sabu's work earned him a place as "Britain's first above-the-title film star of Indian origin."
