In ancient Persia, the young women of a royal harem read the story of Sherazade, unfolding the film's story. Jon Hall plays Haroun-Al-Raschid, the caliph, who falls in love with Maria Montez's character, Sherazade, a sensual and gorgeous dancer. Sabu, as Ali Ben Ali, helps Haroun escape from his traitorous brother Kamar (Jon Hall) after he attempts to seize the throne. The film follows their battles for power and love, set against lavish costumes and sets, with plenty of sword fights and action.
