Biography

Edgar Barrier was a versatile American actor who appeared on radio, stage, and screen, most notably as a member of Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre in the 1930s. He played Simon Templar on The Saint radio show and had recurring roles on TV series Zorro and Disney's adaptation. Barrier also appeared in notable films with Welles, including Journey into Fear (1943) and Macbeth (1948). His Broadway credits include Mary of Scotland, Idiot's Delight, and The Magnificent Yankee.
