Alexander Godunov

Biography

Alexander Borisovich Godunov was a Russian-American ballet dancer and actor born on November 28, 1949, in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia. He became the Premier danseur of the Bolshoi Ballet at a young age and won a gold medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition in 1973. After defecting to the United States in 1979, he began working as a supporting actor in Hollywood films, landing notable roles in Witness (1985) and Die Hard (1988).
