Alex Kendrick was born on June 11, 1970, in Athens, Georgia, to Larry and Rhonwyn Kendrick. He studied communication at Kennesaw State University and earned a B.A., before working as a Christian DJ and attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he was ordained into the ministry.
