Zita Johann was a talented Austrian-American actress and writer born Elizabeth Johann on July 14, 1904, in Temesvar, Austria-Hungary. She made her Broadway debut in 1924 and later signed with MGM, making her screen debut in D.W. Griffith's The Struggle in 1931 before starring as Helen Grosvenor/Princess Ankhesenamón in the iconic film The Mummy in 1932. After a brief Hollywood career, Johann returned to theater and community service, leaving behind a legacy of spiritual depth and dedication to her craft.
