Betsy Blair was a talented American actress who began her career at eight and worked as an amateur dancer, model, and radio performer before joining the chorus of Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe in 1940. She married Gene Kelly and had a notable film career, earning critical acclaim for her performance in Marty (1955), which earned her a BAFTA Award and an Academy Award nomination. Blair continued working in theatre, film, and television until the mid-1990s, mainly based in London.
