Shigeru Amachi

Biography

Shigeru Amachi was a Japanese actor who established himself in action and jidaigeki films, earning fame for his nihilistic roles. He starred in notable films like "Zatoichi's Vengeance" (1966) and "The Tale of Zatoichi" (1962), as well as TV specials such as "Hijō no raisensu" and a long-running series featuring Kogoro Akechi. Amachi also appeared on stage, notably playing Hishakaku in Jinsei gekijō. He was active from 1953 to 1984.
