Biography

Ulrich Mühe was a renowned German film and theatre actor known for his Oscar-winning performance as Hauptmann Gerd Wiesler in the 2006 film Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others). He also starred in the long-running forensic crime series Der letzte Zeuge (The Last Witness) and appeared in films such as Amen. (2002) and Benny's Video (1992). Mühe was a vocal critic of Communist rule in East Germany before German reunification.
