Biography

Hubert Prior Vallée, known professionally as Rudy Vallee, was an American singer, musician, actor, and radio host who rose to fame as one of the first modern pop stars of the teen idol type. He had a hit radio program, "The Fleishmann's Yeast Hour," which catapulted him to stardom in the 1920s and early 1930s. Vallee went on to become a popular star in nightclubs, movies, and records, helping launch the careers of Alice Faye and Frances Langford.
