Dorian Harewood is an African American actor born on August 6, 1950. He gained recognition for his roles in the ABC miniseries Roots: The Next Generations as Simon Haley and in the biographical film The Jesse Owens Story, where he portrayed the iconic athlete. Harewood also starred in the TV series Strike Force and I'll Fly Away, earning a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in 1994.
