Marjoe Gortner

Biography

Marjoe Gortner is an American former evangelist preacher and actor born on January 14, 1944, in Long Beach, California. He gained public attention as the youngest ordained preacher at four years old and went on to star in a behind-the-scenes documentary about Pentecostal preaching, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film. As an adult, he publicly admitted his past deception and regret, and later pursued an acting career from the 1970s to the 1990s.
