George "Tiger" Haynes was an American actor and jazz musician born on December 13, 1914, in Frederiksted, St. Croix. He began his career as a boxer before transitioning to acting, with notable roles including Rufus in "Apprentice to Murder," Mr. Semper in "The Mosquito Coast," and the Tin Man in the original Broadway cast of "The Wiz." Haynes made appearances on television shows like "The Cosby Show" and "Law & Order" before his passing in 1994.
