Helena Ignez is a Brazilian actress and filmmaker born on May 23, 1939, in Salvador, Bahia. She began her acting career in the early 1960s with notable roles in Glauber Rocha's "Pátio" (short film, no release date given) and later appeared in films associated with the Cinema Novo movement, including "A Grande Feira," "Assalto ao Trem Pagador," and "O Padre e a Moça." She also directed 7 films, including a sequel to Rogério Sganzerla's debut feature.
