The Red Light Bandit

"The Red Light Bandit" is a 1968 Brazilian crime thriller film directed by Rogério Sganzerla, inspired by the real-life robber João Acácio Pereira da Costa, nicknamed "The Red Light Bandit". Born and raised in São Paulo's slums, Jorge (Paulo Villaça) becomes a luxury house burglar, baffling the police with his unique modus operandi. Wearing a red flashlight, he engages in daring escapes, extravagant spending, and long conversations with his female victims before being pursued by the authorities and cornered, leading to a desperate final act.
