Gerald Grant Sim was born on June 4, 1925, in Liverpool, Lancashire, and was a member of the acting Sim family. He made over 100 film and television appearances throughout his career, including notable roles as Hackett in "Dr. Phibes Rises Again" (1972) and Professor Robertson in "Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde" (1971). Sim is perhaps best known for playing the Rector in the classic sitcom "To the Manor Born". He passed away on December 11, 2014.
