Laurie Bird

Biography

Laurie Bird was a promising American actress and photographer who appeared in just three films during the 1970s, including Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) and Cockfighter (1974), both directed by Monte Hellman. Her career was cut short when she took her own life at age 25 in Art Garfunkel's New York apartment, after a tumultuous relationship with Garfunkel and Hellman. Bird's striking resemblance to Hayley Mills earned her critical acclaim, including praise from Hollywood columnist Dick Kleiner.
