In the gritty drama "Cockfighter," director Monte Hellman brings to life a world of rural gamblers and cockfighters, where the stakes are high and the consequences are deadly. Based on Charles Willeford's 1962 novel, the film follows Frank Mansfield, a mute man who trains fighting cocks with his bare hands and will stop at nothing to win.
