Biography

Gurgon Kyap was a Tibetan-born Chinese actor and director who rose to prominence with his breakout role as Karma in the 1999 film "Himalaya: L'Enfance d'un chef". Born in Amdo in 1971, he fled Tibet at a young age and eventually settled in Paris, where he began studying theater. Kyap went on to pursue a career in film, both acting and directing, before passing away in Labrang, China in 2016.
