In this offbeat musical comedy, David Byrne stars as an unnamed narrator who visits the eccentric town of Virgil, Texas, just before its sesquicentennial celebration. Among the bizarre residents he encounters are a country-singing clean room technician, a preacher with a flair for conspiracy theories, and a Tejano singer claiming to hear tones from people - all set against a backdrop of absurd musical numbers, parades, and fashion shows.
