Spalding Gray was an American actor and writer, best known for his autobiographical monologues that he wrote and performed on stage in the 1980s and 1990s, as well as for film adaptations of these works, including Swimming to Cambodia, Monster in a Box, and Gray's Anatomy. He worked with various directors, showcasing his unique blend of dry wit and personal narrative style. Gray struggled with depression and severe injuries before taking his own life at age 62.
