Ed Wood

In 1952, aspiring writer and director Ed Wood struggles to break into the film industry, but his luck changes when he befriends horror film actor Bela Lugosi and convinces Weiss to let him direct a low-budget film titled I Changed My Sex!. As he navigates the ups and downs of production for Glen or Glenda, Ed's unconventional approach raises eyebrows, and his relationship with actress Dolores Fuller is put to the test when she struggles to accept his secret: that he is a transvestite. Despite critical and commercial failure, Ed perseveres, financing his next film independently and befriending famous psychic The Amazing Criswell, who advises him on how to sell himself better. As Ed's star continues to rise and fall, he must confront the harsh realities of Hollywood's cutthroat industry, all while maintaining his artistic vision and finding love in the unlikeliest of places.
