College student Ben inherits a mysterious mechanical box called 'Le Vaudou Mort' from his father, who died two years earlier. He shows it to friends and, after some initial confusion, the box starts killing them off one by one. Detective Meares helps Ben uncover clues pointing to the killer among ten suspects, while Professor Banyon reveals that the Le Vaudou Mort was once used as a theatre prop but has become a deadly revenge apparatus.
