Welcome to Dongmakgol

During the Korean War in 1950, a U.S. Navy pilot crash-lands his plane in a remote mountainous part of Korea, where he is found by villagers from a secluded village called Dongmakgol. The village's residents are unaware of the outside world and modern technology, leading to an unexpected encounter between North Korean soldiers, South Korean soldiers, and American forces. As tensions rise and a Mexican standoff ensues, the group eventually comes together to help harvest potatoes in the fields, ultimately leading to a communal meal that loosens the tension between them.
