Lady in the Water

Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti), the superintendent of an apartment complex in Philadelphia, rescues Story, a naiad-like being, from the building's swimming pool. Heep immediately rescues Story from an attack by a Scrunt, a grass-covered and wolf-like creature that hides by flattening its body against the turf. The story follows their meeting with tenant Vick Ran, who is struggling to complete "The Cookbook," a book that will save humanity in the future.
