Higher Learning

Higher Learning is a 1995 American crime drama film written and directed by John Singleton, starring Omar Epps as Malik Williams, a track star on an athletic scholarship struggling with academics, and Kristy Swanson as Kristen Connor, a shy and naive white woman who becomes involved in a campus party that descends into violence. The film follows the changing lives of three incoming freshmen at Columbus University as they navigate issues of race politics, racism, and personal identity.
