When Angels Sleep

Germán, a businessman, accidentally hits a teenage girl, Gloria, with his car after falling asleep at the wheel. He then tries to get help for her and her friend Silvia, but Silvia becomes suspicious of Germán's actions after recognizing the damaged headlight on his car as the one that struck her and her friend. Desperate not to lose his family and face jail time, Germán drowns Silvia in a river, hides both bodies, and fakes an accident involving a dog to cover up his crime. A year later, when news of another teenage girl murdered comes on TV, Germán is shown still preparing for his daughter's birthday party, unaware that he may be the prime suspect.
