The Running Man

In a dystopian future where the global economy has collapsed and the US has become a totalitarian police state, the government maintains control through propaganda and censorship by broadcasting a deadly game show called "The Running Man." Convicted criminals, known as "runners," must survive pursuit by themed gladiatorial assassins called "stalkers" to win their freedom. Against this backdrop of oppression and manipulation, Captain Ben Richards, a wrongly accused police officer, becomes an unlikely symbol of resistance against a corrupt government and its media machine.
