"Cocktail" is an energetic and entertaining 80's flick that starts lively and amusing but slowly fleshes out its characters for a deeper, more emotional payoff. This Tom Cruise-led film tells the story of Brian Flanagan, a young ex-soldier who becomes an expert bartender in Manhattan to make ends meet, before setting his sights on opening his own nightclub in Jamaica. Along the way, he navigates love, ambition, and identity, learning that true success comes from within.
