The Dance of Reality

Young Alejandro (Jeremías Herskovits) lives with his Jewish-Ukrainian parents Jaime (Brontis Jodorowsky) and Sara (Pamela Flores) in Tocopilla, Chile, where Jaime raises him with great severity due to his communist beliefs and delusional views of their son. Jaime puts Alejandro through tests of self-control and bravery, including a dental operation without anesthetic, in an attempt to prove his own bravery to the other firefighters. The story follows Jaime's long journey home after he is captured by Nazis and tortured, but ultimately reunited with his family.
