Citizenfour

The documentary film Citizenfour follows Edward Snowden (himself) as he shares his experiences and reveals inside information about illegal wiretapping practices of the US National Security Agency (NSA). Snowden's initial message to director Laura Poitras offers a glimpse into the world of NSA surveillance, which she accompanies journalist Glenn Greenwald to Hong Kong for their first meeting with Snowden in June 2013. The film chronicles Snowden's efforts to evade prosecution and secure asylum in Russia after his identity becomes public, featuring interviews with William Binney and other key figures in the story.
