The Boxer

In a poignant and powerful portrayal of redemption, Daniel Day-Lewis stars as Danny Flynn, a former Provisional IRA member turned boxer, in Jim Sheridan's 1997 drama, The Boxer. Released from prison after 14 years, Danny returns to Belfast with the goal of "going straight" and finds solace in boxing - but his past comes back to haunt him when he reconnects with an old flame and becomes embroiled in a deadly cat-and-mouse game between rival factions within the IRA.
