Robert De Niro stars as Walt Koontz, a retired security guard who suffers a debilitating stroke and is assigned to a rehabilitative program that includes singing lessons with drag queen Rusty (Philip Seymour Hoffman). As Walt gains confidence through their unlikely friendship and singing lessons, he also begins to uncover the truth about his building's shady residents.
