In "Gangster Land," Timothy Woodward Jr.'s 2017 action crime drama, Al Capone's rise to power is examined through the lens of his second-in-command, "Machine Gun" Jack McGurn. The film delves into the tumultuous world of Chicago's underworld as the Italian Mafia clashes with the Irish mafia, ultimately culminating in the infamous Saint Valentine's Day Massacre. With a star-studded cast and respectable production values, this gritty crime flick offers a fresh take on an iconic era, but falls short in its execution.
