Kagemusha: The Shadow Warrior

In feudal Japan, a petty thief is recruited to impersonate Takeda Shingen, an aging warlord, as a means of avoiding attacks from rival clans. He becomes embroiled in a web of deception and leadership, eventually taking over as the powerful ruler, but his commitment to the role is tested when he must lead his troops into battle against a rival warlord. The film's climactic conclusion brings the story full circle, culminating in the 1575 Battle of Nagashino.
