Tatsuya Nakadai
Biography
Tatsuya Nakadai was a Japanese actor widely regarded as one of the greatest in cinema history. He rose to prominence starring in Masaki Kobayashi's films, including the epic anti-war trilogy The Human Condition, for which he won numerous accolades. His collaborations with directors Akira Kurosawa and Kobayashi earned him global acclaim, most notably his performance as a doomed warlord in Ran (1985). A lifelong stage actor, Nakadai was honored with Japan's Order of Culture in 2015.
