Dangerous Minds

Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Louanne Johnson, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps who takes a teaching job at Carlmont High School in California, where she must use her tough but caring demeanor to reach a group of tough, sullen teenagers from low-income working-class backgrounds involved in gang warfare and drug pushing. Despite initial resistance, LouAnne uses karate and unconventional methods to engage the students, earning their respect and forming personal connections with some students. As tensions rise, LouAnne's determination to protect her students and fight for education becomes clear.
