A Touch of Zen

In 17th-century China, a mysterious princess named Yang Hui-zhen flees corruption, joined by skilled Buddhist monks and an unambitious painter, Gu Sheng-zhai. Together, they embark on a perilous quest against evil forces, navigating themes of transcendence, Zen Buddhism, and feminism in a world dominated by eunuchs. As the story unfolds, Gu's character evolves from passivity to activism, leading to a climactic battle that exposes the true cost of human life.
