Shortcut to Happiness

In a bizarre twist on the classic tale, "Shortcut to Happiness" reimagines the 1936 short story "The Devil and Daniel Webster" as an action-comedy-drama with fantasy elements. Alec Baldwin stars alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt and Anthony Hopkins in this fantastical ride about Jabez Stone, a desperate writer who makes a Faustian bargain for success but soon realizes that fame comes at a steep price. When he tries to escape the deal, Jabez turns to orator Daniel Webster (played by Hopkins) to defend him against the devil himself, leading to an epic battle of wits in a trial of the soul.
