Daniel Edward Aykroyd, born July 1, 1952, is a Canadian and American actor, comedian, screenwriter, musician, and producer. He co-wrote sketches for a private cable company and joined The Second City comedy troupe in Chicago and Toronto at 20. Aykroyd became a founding member of "Saturday Night Live" in 1975 and went on to write the iconic "Blues Brothers" sketch, which led to a full-length feature in 1980.
