This Is My Life

Single mom Dottie Ingels sells cosmetics in a department store while dreaming of becoming a comedian. After she inherits some money, she decides to move to New York with her children Erica and Opal in order to begin a stand-up career in small bars. As Dottie rises to stardom, she struggles to juggle her newfound fame with her existing responsibilities as a parent, leaving her daughters feeling lonely and unappreciated. The film is a heart-wrenching exploration of the sacrifices that come with chasing one's dreams, and the lengths to which a mother will go to give her children a better life.
