Mrs. Brown

In 1863, Queen Victoria finds solace in her trusted servant, John Brown, a Scottish Highlander who was previously Prince Albert's loyal aide. As their relationship blossoms into an unlikely friendship, scandal and turmoil erupt within the British monarchy. Queen Victoria's popularity plummets as she spends more time with Brown at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, sparking fears of growing republicanism. When Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli convinces Brown to persuade Victoria to return to public duties, their bond is tested, and an assassination attempt on the Royal Family forces Victoria to confront her loyalty to John Brown.
